Nagina Masjid, Agra-

The north side of the yard (to one side as you enter) a little entryway prompts the wonderful little Nagina Masjid (Gem Mosque), made completely of marble. Topped with three vaults and drew closer from a marble-cleared patio, it was authorized by Shah Jahan for the women of the array of mistresses. At the back on the right, a little gallery with perfectly cut cross-section screens offers a watchful perspective from where individuals from the collection of mistresses could review extravagance merchandise – silks, gems, and brocade – spread out available to be purchased by traders in the patio beneath, without themselves being seen.

The raised porch on the most distant side of the Macchi Bhavan is enhanced by two positions of authority, one dark slate, the other white marble. The white one was utilized by Shah Jahan, the dark one by the future head Jahangir to watch elephant battles in the eastern nook. It presently serves, to some degree less brilliantly, as a favored roost for couples posturing for photographs against the scenery of the removed Taj.
